Tat Soon Food Court, Abell Road

reminder to all of you all that cooks laksa...make sure u soak your bee hoon in a proper time frame, not too long and vice versa. This was what happen to the laksa stall at this kopitiam. So, the bad thing that will happen if bee hoon is prepared that way is, you ended up having the rice stick smell. The one that smells like uncooked rice in your soup. Also, the soup was quite tasteless and not quite watery. Ok, the rest was fine, only again...WHERE IS THE EGG?! no egg, means not complete laksa. Then, overall it was not a very satisfying experience. the laksa is more like a pleasure eating, fun eating meal. i got nothing much to say here, so as Aaron, the prawns was quite rigid but some was imbalance. The preparation of the laksa was quite good by its appearance.Oh yea, not forgetting Xiao Chee (our friend ) join us for the breakfast, and she's spicy phobia, thus ended up having Lou Shu Fen. anyway, here are the result:

coffee shop name/venue:Tat Soon Food Court(Hotel Longhouse), Abell Road
laksa price range:RM3, RM5
fragrant leaves:yes
visible ingredients:chicken strips,prawns,bean sprouts
rating for laksa gravy:4.3
Food quality rating:4.5
quantity to price rating:4.3
overall satisfaction:4.3

Jit Yang Cafe, Green Road

we drop by this time to a newly refurbished kopitiam, just by the corner of the road. i remember when i was a kid, i used to come here most of the time to eat chicken rice with my family. Green road and Poh Kwong Park is consider my neighborhood too. i used to hang around at here since my cousins stay at Sungai Maong area. on the way, i bring aaron to spot a 1969 Cadillac Eldorado. he was amazed with its size. that was his 1st time seeing a American luxury car. OK, back to laksa...the gravy is good, think and tasty. but in certain point, there is an imbalance taste in the gravy itself, taste it yourself, you will get what we mean.and also, the gravy is weak in contrast to the taste itself. when the sambal is poured in, the gravy lost its taste... NO EGGS MEANS INCOMPLETE LAKSA!! i dont get why eggs was not in the dish itself. the rest was good, the chicken, sambal, the bee hoon was properly boiled. Prawns are somehow has imbalanced taste too. some are fresh and some are not. some are soft and some are rigid. the results are as follows:

coffee shop name/venue:Jit Yang Cafe,Green Road
laksa price range:RM3, RM4
fragrant leaves:yes(coriander)
visible ingredients:chicken strips,prawns,bean sprouts
rating for laksa gravy:7.2
Food quality rating:6.1
quantity to price rating:5
overall satisfaction:6.1
