Ling Loong Cafe, King's Center.

Ehren say this laksa is good...he wants us to try, so we did. i woke up at 6.45, go fetch aaron up and we were eating already at 730. the laksa now...1st impression...good, tasty looking. 2nd impression...erm, not that good actually. Whats behind it is laksa paste is not much in used. it is thick and tasty because of the coconut milk..the santan!! thus making it loss a little bit of the "laksa" thinggy. but most of it is good. especially the egg, it is soft enough. more like sponge which it is supposed to be that way. good job auntie! oh yea, the bee hoon, well...should be boiled longer. so that it helps to reflect the real laksa look and taste.1 more thing...aaron likes the prawns!at least, 3 thumb size prawns.. the results are as below:

A one Food Court, BDC

Ain't you just like salty, tasty laksa...that is what it actually supposed to be. for this stall, named Morning Laksa, their laksa is just as good as it gets! tasty enough, nice fragrant, looks good and fine. few negative things was, quantity. very bad comparing to its price. u get around less then 10 chicken strips/chunks, only few strips of eggs. the prawns were acceptable, but it was not that fresh, seems to be soaked in salt water before boiled. the Bee Hoon was boiled very well. oh yes, and the gravy was thick, just nice to be one of the good laksa gravy. The rest is up to you, go and have a try. the results are as follows.

Spring cafe, palm road

spring cafe...the cafe me, aaron, and the rest of the old boys gang used to eat there. famous for its kolo mee and laksa among josephians, we head there to bust the myth! hehehe. ok. 1st impression on the laksa was not really good actually. by the color, it looks nice. but when we tasted it, the curry taste is so strong, it just automatically reflects that its not laksa anymore. as we had also spotted some beancurd thus making it more likely to be laksa nyonya. but still, its quite confusing as laksa nyonya dont taste like too. this laksa has cury and laksa paste mixture. the eggs are fine, the bee hoon are those fine ones, so it does not taste as good as an actual laksa supposed to be like. the prawns are split into half. we got 3 slices (1 1/2 prawns!!) nothing more to say, its up to you guys to taste it. result are as follows.

Tiang's cafe, bormill

This is our second time visiting the coffee shop... and this time, we got the pic. and the full review after about an hour of discussion about the laksa. ok, the soup is so good, marvellous! the soup is in superb looking condition. very nice color, very mild. the taste of the soup, even the spices used can be tasted(that reflects REAL LAKSA GRAVY) and also, it is salty enough. the laksa is served as complete laksa. all ingerdients included, nothing to be missed. the soup given also was alot, the stall owner wasnt stingy, at all. hehehe. fresh solid prawns we served, properly boiled rice vermicelli (bee hoon) , soft, spongy egg slices are served, and also not forgetting the chicken, its chicken chunks/slices. for now, we have another winner. the results are as below.
