madam tang, petanak area.

kenny sia claims this laksa is the best in kuching. this time, jennifer will be joining us for the 1st time. so as for the closing of this month laksa review for the month of july, me and aaron had a taste of the ''best'' . me and aaron indeed had similar tasebud, so we think the soup is tasteless(fragrant, but no taste). for me, the soup is 'weak' . the moment you put in the lime, everything is gone. it tends to taste like asam laksa. normally that would happen if lots of lime had been squeezed in. but not this one. the 2 of us were quite dissapointed with the prawns served. i can tell that it taste like unfreshed prawns soak in salt water (for freshness purposes). it was of course better then the rest, but we dont think it was the best anyhow. there are still more better ones indeed.

thompson corner, tabuan jaya.

we seldom see laksa served with clams. so tiday, we went to tabuan jaya to taste this laksa that was introduced by one of my aunties. anyway, the overall look of the laksa is pleasent. find colour blend of the gravy. but when we tested it, i found that it taste exactly like curry...and i tell aaron about it (since he was busy preparing the lime and the belacan) . while i was mixing things up, aaron was certainly in shocked. do you know how it taste like? let us tell you...
GET A PACKET OF MAMEE MAWI INSTANT NOODLES, DONT ADD TOO MUCH WATER FOR THE SOUP (MAKE SURE ITS GRAVY LOOKING) THEN, ADD SOME LIME AND SOME BELACAN.
walla...there you have it. the same thing especially the gravy. it taste SOOOOO Curry...even worst...instant noodle curry taste.

Foody goody food court, tabuan laru

we came across a laksa stall at tabuan laru. a friend of aaron intro this stall and it was claimed very good. so we went for a try. indeed, it was funny...it turned out that aaron like the laksa there but i dont. certain issues including the taste of the athuentic laksa gravy. this stall evventually makes gravy that taste more like curry. yes its thick, but the curry taste is in (maybe the gravy is added some curry leaves,or some some). the final review was as follows.

the jiangxi kopi hui, ban hock road area.

the laksa form this stall is julio's family favourite laksa. i had been eating this stall's laksa since 15 yrs old. previously it was at handsome court palm road. few years back, it had move to a coffee shop somewhere opposite a flower shop, the same row as Dynasty Restaurant at ban hock area. i introduced aaron to eat here for few times already. and we had made our final decision on it. and yea, the chilly is super hot. u might want to have it served with a chilled Ice Tea...yes its 3 layered but it consist of coconut milk, not ideal milk. do try it out also.
